Local Food is Miles Better
At Lowe Farm, you can enjoy traditional English farmhouse cooking at its best. Fresh and wholesome local produce - including vegetables straight from Juliet's own organic kitchen garden - is the mainstay of all our menus. We serve meat from the farm next door and eggs from our own back yard. 'Local Food Is Miles Better' is more than just a slogan on the door.
While embracing old-fashioned country values, we also believe in flair and creativity. In the Lowe Farm kitchen, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Our menus vary according to the season and the availability of quality produce.
We may not be able to cater for every special dietary need, but we will certainly try. Juliet is herself lactose-intolerant, and sympathetic to the problems of others who find it hard to eat certain common food ingredients. This is reflected in the foods Juliet keeps in the house or can prepare on request.
Enjoyment of a meal depends not only on the food, of course, but also on the ambiance in which you eat. So we won't hurry you down for breakfast; any time before 10 is fine. And you'll be served by friendly staff, happy to linger and talk if you feel the inclination. In the evening, what could be finer than taking dinner at a huge oak table, in the reassuring permanence of our ancient farm?
Breakfast is included with every room booking; evening meals are provided by arrangement, and 24 hours' notice is required. Evening meals are not available on Mondays, Wednesdays or Saturdays. The dining room is also closed on 24th Feb, 29th July, 10th Oct and 15th Oct.
Guests who like to eat out will find plenty of excellent restaurants and pubs within a short drive. For details, see our guide to eating out.
